It’s been three years since the inception of the tonyjiang.com domain. In the last year not too much has been happening to my websites as my efforts were focused on work, school, and something else. This doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to write about though, so keep on reading for the inside scoop into tonyjiang.com’s third year on the world wide web.
TonyJiang.com’s second anniversary has arrived, and just like last anniversary I decided to write an article about my web ventures of the previous 12 months. Compared to the first year, there weren’t as many major events, because I didn’t move the sites nor did I have as much time to work on my websites. I have added one new website to the tonyjiang.com network in the past 12 months, and all the other sites are doing okay. The coming August marks the one year anniversary of tonyjiang.com and my first year on paid hosting. In celebration to this joyous occasion, I decided to write an article documenting my website experience in the past year. Important events include the big move from my old server to the current one, and the accompanying effects. There were some ups and some downs, but overall my sites seem to have survived and they have not fallen into the bottom of the internet pit (they are already there). As you can probably guess from the title, this article is about my experience with Google’s Adsense program, which powers all the text and sometimes image ads that you see around my site. Be advised that this is not one of those “how to make a sh*tload of money from Adsense” type of literature and I’m not one of those “experts” who writes those articles. Rather this is a summary and reflection of my past 13 month experience with the program. No, I didn’t end up making a ridiculous amount of money, but the results were encouraging and better than I had hoped initially, which goes to show that even a regular Joe (or Tony, in my case) like me can make money from the internet (without doing something illegal).
I finally received my second pay check from my “advertising ventures” just in time for the holidays. I consider it as my Xmas bonus. This time I earned a bit more than last time and did it in a shorter period of time too. I’m definitely earning more than before and I hope my revenue keeps increasing.
I’ve really busy lately because I have to study for my final exams. University terms are a lot shorter than high school terms and I’m already finished with classes. Hopefully I’ll do well on my exams and come up with some new and interesting content for my sites.
Woo hoo, the website classes I took in high school are finally paying off. I just got my first check from Google for my Adsense earnings. Hopefuly this will be the first of many checks to come. Making webpages is actually good for something after all haha. I’ll do my best to improve this website and provide even more quality content for you visitors.
