… and The Rest

Other than the ski trips, I had two other overnight trips (not including going to Vancouver). The first one was to the nearby Skagit County. I was forced out of my apartment by the bomb cyclone that hit the Greater Seattle area which knocked out power for several days. I hunkered down in my apartment for two nights in the dark, but couldn’t take it anymore and went on a little road trip. I visited Anacortes and La Conner, visited some parks and walked a few easy trails. I enjoy visiting new places, and a hotel stay and hot breakfast is better than stuck in a cold, dark apartment. Thankfully the power was back when I returned.

The second trip was a work trip. I started a new job and it just happened to be the big company gathering, so I spent a week in Denver learning what the company is about and meeting more of my new colleagues at the Colorado Convention Center. The last time I was at the convention center in Denver was nearly 7 years ago for another big conference. I didn’t bring my skis since it was a work trip and I already did a big Colorado ski trip the previous ski season.

The rest of winter was celebrating the holidays. I went to some local holiday celebrations, and saw some performances. Here’s the rest of the highlights.

It was another eventful winter. Other than the fun stuff and starting a new job, I also bought a new car for the first time in my life. A new year, new job, new car, new beginnings. Hoping for a good year; health, happiness and prosperity. Seems like 2025 will be a year of big changes for myself and for the world, and I hope things will work out for the best. I will probably do some final bit of skiing before moving onto warmer weather activities. Thanks for reading if you got this far.
