Review: Hatsukoi Limited

Here is my long overdue end-of-series review for Hatukoi Limited. I usually write these reviews right after the series ends, but real-life got in the way. It’s been a few weeks since the end of the show, so this review is more like a collection of random thoughts (that I still remember). Anyways, Hatsukoi Limited turned out to be a very pleasant show that featured the right blend of light comedy and romance, and it was one of my favorite shows of the spring 2009 season.

My GRE Experience

I feel like writing today, so I thought I would share my GRE experience. For those who didn’t know, the Graduate Record Examination is a standardized exam prepared that students have to take if they want to apply to certain grad school programs (mainly in the United States). This article is basically my experience taking the GRE general test, starting from when I started studying and ending with me getting my scores. Unfortunately, there won’t be much useful studying tips in here since I tend to study the “dumb” way, but hopefully this article will at least be an interesting read.

Review: Sengoku Basara

The Spring 2009 anime season is now officially over, and as usual I’m trying to churn out reviews for series that watched but didn’t blog episodically. Unfortunately, progress is a bit slow these days because I have to study for other things and I inhaled too much lead fumes from soldering at work. If the writing in this review is worse than usual, you can thank the lead fumes for that. Anyways, today’s review is for Sengoku Basara, a wild, action-packed series based on a video game.

My (Second Half of) Third Year of University

It’s time again for another yearly reflections article. This is actually my fourth year as a college undergrad, but because of co-op I was still doing my third year courses. Just like last year, I only spent four months in school and spent the other eight months working as a co-op student (and am still working at the time of writing). Unlike last year however, I didn’t become very ill and therefore there are no emergency room visits to speak of. This probably means this article won’t be as exciting as last year’s, but I’m glad not to have that kind of excitement. Anyways, read on to find out what I’ve been up to in the past year.

Review: FLCL

In my effort to expand my knowledge of anime and manga, every so often I will watch and review old series (as in not currently airing/in serialization) that have caught my attention for various reasons, and this time I have decided to watch the chaotic eccentricity known as FLCL.

Review: Casshern Sins

The Winter 2009 anime season is coming to a close, which means it’s time for me to write some end-of-series reviews for the shows that I watched but didn’t blog on a per-episode basis. One of these series is Casshern Sins, which I picked up half way through its run. I was intrigued by the promise of robot combat and the unique art style that I saw in some screen shots. Casshern Sins turned out to be a decent series overall and here is my short review of the series.
