Thoughts on Blood-C: The Last Dark

Since I’m only following one show this anime season, I have some time to watch other stuff and I just finished Blood-C: The Last Dark. The Last Dark is the sequel movie to the summer 2011 series Blood-C, a collaboration between the studio Production I.G. and manga group CLAMP. The series featured a school girl named Saya using her katana to kill man-eating monsters known as furukimono. Blood-C was a memorable series; it wasn’t that good, but it was memorable because how the story unfolded and the bloody violence. I wanted to what sort of ending The Last Dark would put on the story, and here are a few thoughts I had for the film.

Warning: contains major spoilers to the film and also Blood-C the series.

Thoughts on Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos

I’m a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist franchise, and therefore of course I watched the The Sacred Star of Milos movie. It’s another one of those things that I watched a while ago but never got around to posting about. The Sacred Star of Milos is an anime-original side story for the FMA:Brotherhood anime, and here is what I thought of the movie. Post contains minor spoilers.

Thoughts on Samurai Champloo

Since I’m not following that many new anime series this season, I thought I’d go and watch some older series that have received a lot of praise: the so-called “classics”. Samurai Champloo is one such series, but to be honest I finished the series more than a year ago, but just never got around to writing about it. I thought Samurai Champloo was excellent with its mix of action and comedy, and here are my thoughts about the series.

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse – Final Thoughts

Another anime season has come to an end. I don’t watch that much anime these days, so the only series that I’ve been watching been watching and not blogging that concluded in the season was Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. Total Eclipse is a show about people using giant mechas to fight invading man-eating aliens. Oh and it also has pretty girls too, so it’s the type of show that I typically watch. Here are some final thoughts I have on this series.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon – Final Thoughts

The Fall 2011 anime season has ended two or three weeks ago, and these days I usually do a round-up final thoughts post for all of the shows that I watched but didn’t blog weekly. However, the only show in my line-up that ended last season was Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, so hence Horizon will get the final thoughts post all to itself. Horizon was a decent show that had some good elements, but after a season of the show I’m still not sure what the entire story is about.

Thoughts on Macross Frontier: The Wings of Goodbye

I got around to watching the 2nd Macross Frontier movie about a month or so ago. Given how I impressed I was by the anime series, I thought I would get around to writing down my thoughts sooner, but I was busy at the time with other things so I didn’t immediately start a post. After a few days I start to forget what I watched, and the post ended in the back burner (along with a post on Samurai Champloo; I finished that series several months ago). I finally got around to putting my thoughts down during winter vacation, so here are some my disorganized, random thoughts on Macross Frontier: The Wings of Goodbye. Don’t read this post if you don’t want to be spoiled.

Thoughts on Cowboy Bebop

Ever since I started watching anime regularly (again) a couple of years ago, I’ve mostly watched new series, but starting a few months ago I’ve been trying to watch some older “classics” just to broaden my horizons and see what makes these series stand out for people. Watching completed series is also a good way to be entertained since I don’t have (or rather don’t want to pay for) cable TV at my apartment. I started with Cowboy Bebop, which is closer to my comfort zone since I like sci-fi and action. I recently finished watching all 26 episodes of the show and the theatrical feature Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, and thus here are some thoughts I have on Cowboy Bebop as a whole.

Thoughts on Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer

I just watched the Gundam 00 movie, also known as Gundams vs. Aliens for the first time EVER!! That sentence is just to give you a taste of how ridiculous the movie was. By ridiculous I don’t really mean bad, just far removed from reality (even for Gundam). Still, I found the movie to be pretty entertaining and here are my thoughts on it.

Post contains some spoilers, so read at your own discretion.
